Better Forage (previously Mountain West Tarp & Cover) history goes back as far as 2007. Toby Anderson started covering his first silage pile south of Holyoke, Colorado. He used the customers loader and chained a gate panel to the bucket and loaded all of the tires by hand. He has built the business working countless hours in the harvest season, building a solid company with integrity and honesty. He has increased the business substantially and is now running as much as 6 silage covering crews throughout the hay and silage season.
In 2011, Jared Anderson started installing and renting his first Inland Hay Tarps for a customer in Crook, Colorado. He hauled them in the back of his Suburban with 300,000 miles and no A/C. He continued to grow the tarping business with a lot of hard work, sweat, and sleepless nights. We now have up to 3 hay tarping crews out in the busy season installing and stretching tarps within a 150 mile radius of Haxtun
In 2019, Toby and Jared Anderson combined the silage covering and hay covering services. By doing so, they were able to utilize the same trucks, equipment, and labor to more efficiently serve their customers.
In 2020, Mountain West Tarp & Cover joined forces with Better Forage. With this combination of quality forage and feed companies we will be able to add even more value for our customers then before. The partnership will provide the great sale and service knowledge that Mountain West Tarp & Cover provides along with added expertise from Better Forage, who prides themselves on the best forage preservation products and knowledge to apply these great products.
